Team Lawson

My Favorite Sister-in-Law is getting married!!! Yay!!!  Haley and I are truly like sisters.  She is sweet, thoughtful, beautiful and a fantastic friend.  It makes me happy to see her so happy! So when Michael popped the question a few weeks ago and she said "yes" there was some celebrating that had to be done!

With College Football upon us, a quick champagne toast at the first Saturday tailgate of the year seemed appropriate. Here are some pics from the day.

"Team Lawson" rally towels!

Haley came back from the bathroom and we surprised her with the towels, toasting and lots of hugs and pictures.

She was definitely surprised!

Jayne brought a veil so that the bride-to-to be looked the part too

I was also very honored to be asked to be Haley's Matron of Honor.  There is a LOT of fun and celebrating ahead and I can't wait!  Cheers!

P.S. I have to give a shout-out to one of my BFF's who has a birthday today!  Happy Birthday Rebecca Swygert!  Love ya!!

Ch-ch-ch-ch Changes

Wow.  I've been a terrible blogger....again.  Sorry guys.  I know you've given up on me but here I am!  I promise to be better, and this time I really mean it!  There has been a LOT that has happened since the last time I've blogged.

Fourth of July weekend came and we had our annual Lippard/Lee/Londry/Walker Sunset Beach family vacation.  Which I can tell you is always a great time, but for some reason, this year felt especially, well, special.  Maybe it's because we had some new additions to the group or started some new traditions, but it really was an absolute blast.  All photo credit goes to Seantel, she is FAR better and taking pictures (and blogging) than me.

Look at those sweet patriotic babies (and big boy)!

We brought back Minute-to-Win-It, Sunset style!  I was on the winning team...AGAIN!  Woo hoo!

Haha, these pictures are hilarious.

Burgers and Dogs for the fourth!

Look at those handsome boys!

This is one of my favorite pictures ever.

One of my favorite boys!

Right when we got home from Sunset, I started my new job as Membership and Marketing Director of The Members Club at Woodcreek and WildeWood.  Kind of a mouthful, huh?  I'm really enjoying it so far and I keep getting lucky with sweet coworkers too.  Thank goodness!  That can really make a transition difficult when you don't work with nice, helpful people.

William and I have kept very busy this summer with a trip down to Tybee with my Mom and Jimmy, and also a trip up to Cashiers, NC for a friends wedding.  Both were VERY fun weekends.

Here's the Walker group at the wedding

William and I having a pre-wedding brew at the Ugly Dog CafĂ©.  Cute place in Highlands, NC.

I also got to spend some time with some of my favorite girls!

AND of COURSE I can't forget to mention that my sweet and fabulous sister-in-law is going to be a BRIDE!!!  I'm SO happy for her and I'm so looking forward to all of the fun and celebrations to come.

Here we are celebrating at Tsunami after Haley found her dress!  So beautiful and SO much fun. I was so honored to be there.

Now it's FOOTBALL TIME!  Alright!  I'll leave you now with this adorable photo collage of my sweet girl, Sally Mae. She's growing up too fast!

The Celebration Continues.....Minute-To-Win-It Style!

I went in reverse order of my birthday festivities, because it actually started off with a PARTY! Yay!!  That's right....food, drinks, games and friends.  It was the best time I've had in a while.  The only downside?  I didn't take any pictures of the games in action-boo!
I saw a blog that described a "fun night in with friends" with Minute-to-Win-It games and I was totally sold.  Anyone who knows me knows that I am a competitor, a lover of most games (count me out if it's Monopoly-that moves too slow for me) and I like to WIN!  I mean seriously, who likes to lose anyways?
Lots of friends were able to join us at our house for cocktails, apps, sliders, hot dogs and all the fixin's before the games began!

Sally is ready to party

We started by letting everyone pick a number (1-4) out of a hat in order to establish the teams of 4 to 5 people.  After splitting up in to our groups we rolled the dice to see which of the 6 games we would be playing first.
Here are the games we were up against:
Office Tennis:
Two players, using clipboards, volley a balled-up piece of paper into a waste paper basket 15 feet away
Hanky Panky:
Two players, using clipboards, volley a balled-up piece of paper into a waste paper basket 15 feet away
Movin' On Up
Player must hold a stack of blue cups with 1 red cup at the bottom. Player must move cups 1 at a time from the top to the bottom of the stack, trying to cycle the red cup back to the bottom of the stack.
This Blows:
Player must continually blow up a balloon and expel the air from it to knock cups off of a table.
Roll With It:
Unspool two rolls of toilet paper at the same time, using one hand for each.
Blow Ball:
Blow off all red ping-pong balls from a tray, leaving only 3 yellow balls remaining.

Game supplies

Isn't the artwork on our scoreboard super cool?! Thanks, Adam!

We decided that we would time each team for each "event" and would score based on the quickest time.
First Place: 3 points
Second Place: 2 points
Third Place: 1 point
Fourth Place: 0
At the end the team with the most points is the Minute-to-Win-It champions!!  And guess what?!  My team (Team 3-woop, woop!) took home the W!

Friends!

After a little celebrating, the night wrapped up with some birthday cake (complete with THIRTY candles) and a serenading of Happy Birthday from all of my guests.  What an awesome night!  Thanks to my husband, the Kelley's and the Swygerts for pulling it all together.  I love you guys and really appreciate you making my turning thirty such a fabulous affair!

Guess what else I got for my birthday?!?!  A bar!!  I've been wanting one for a while now, and my hubby came through for the big 3-0!  Thanks, babe!  Look how cool!!

 I am a lucky girl!

I don't know about you....but I'm feelin' 22!

Well, I am actually very much feeling like I'm 30 since I've been home from my girls vacay for two days now and still don't feel 100%, but boy was it worth it!  I can without a doubt say that I have some seriously fun friends.   They made my turning thirty feel totally awesome!

Haley and I headed down early Thursday in order to get the beach house ready for everyone and get some sun since Haley had to leave late Friday for a bachelorette party in Savannah.  It was great to have some sister in law catch up time too.

Later in the afternoon, Laura and Rebecca S. joined us for happy hour on the beach, and our group was almost complete!

Not too much later, our favorite shorty Paige joined the fun and we all headed out to Fannie's for some pizza and a Miami vice (that's a blended combo of a daiquiri and a pina colada, delicious!)

My favorite SIL steering the boat at Fannie's!

We were all a little tired from our travels, but rallied like the fun girls that we are and took our singing skills on over to Benny's (It's a Tybee Thang!).

We sang a few songs......

Did a little dancing.....

And took some pics!

Friendship at it's finest :)

Friday morning came quickly, but we managed to wake up, eat a greasy Sugar Shack breakfast, and head out for some beach time.

Paige and Rebecca even treated us (and some innocent beach-goers) to some yoga moves!

Check out that form!  Talent I tell you.

We sadly had to say goodbye to Haley on Friday afternoon but the fun didn't stop there.  After some condo cocktails and primping, we were ready for dinner.  Social is a place that I HAVE to go every time I'm at Tybee.  The decor is beachy and comfortable, and the food is YUM.

Here's the four of us in the lounge area!

Roomie Love!

Cheers to me!  The big 3-0!

After dinner we headed over to the Rock House to do a little dancing...

And take a jello shot....still gross, even when you're thirty (especially when they're made with Fireball-yuck, not recommended!).

The vibe there just wasn't cutting it, so we went back to our old stomping grounds, Benny's.  The night ended up to be nothing short of legendary.

There we are!

This is Rebecca singing "Total Eclipse of the Heart".  It was the best karaoke performance I have ever seen. In. My. Life.  I'm talking the people were out of there seats- coming from the bar to see what was going on onstage! The crowd was going wild!!  Amazing.  Just amazing.

Here's me singing something much less exciting :)

Here's the Rebecca's dancing with our new friend, Jules.

Paige even rocked a solo.  Get 'em PP!

Post Karaoke glow!

The night ended with a visit from the Tybee Pirate (and some random gentlemen photo crashing) and a golf cart cab ride home (compliments of Troy who let us know his signature dance is the mashed potato.)  Does anyone know what that is?  Either way, it was fantastic!

Saturday started with a trip to the Breakfast Club AKA the BEST breakfast you will ever have. Seriously.  Then it was back out to the beach.  Some of us played bocce, while others napped peacefully :)

We spent the majority of the day beachside and then had a low-key dinner at a little dive called
Huc-a-Poos.  It was a really neat place with cornhole, the ring game and live music every night.  It's definitely a hidden spot where the locals hang.

Self portrait time!

There's the whole gang :)  What a beautiful group!

A girls vacation is just what the doctor ordered.  Spending time with some of my favorite girls was the perfect way to ring in the big 3-0.  I love you all so much and it means so much to have you all in my life.  We sure did have a lot of laughs on our trip and I think it will go down in history as one of the best birthdays EVER!  If this is how thirty feels than count me IN!

Love my girls!!!
